The Golden Dome sits atop the Administration Building on the campus of the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame Indiana. The Golden Dome is indeed painted with 24-karat gold leaf paint which was last gilded in 2005 at a cost of $409,000. The Dome’s circumference is 139 feet while its’ height is 225 feet including the statue. The statue is 19 feet tall and weighs 4,400 pounds.
