This photograph is of the ceiling of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart located on the campus of the University of Notre Dame in Notre Dame Indiana. The beautiful artistry that you are enjoying in this photograph was hand painted by Luigi Gregori, Notre Dame’s first Artist-in-residence. Gregori was recruited from the Vatican by the founder of the University of Notre Dame, Father Sorin.
